Enhanced Multi-Disciplinary Teams

Enhanced Multi-disciplinary Teams (E-MDTs) bring together a diverse group of professionals to discuss and coordinate responses to complex cases of elder abuse and neglect. Each E-MDT is comprised of representatives from adult protective services, law enforcement, District Attorney’s Offices, local Offices for the ageing, attorneys, elder abuse prevention providers, medical professionals, and others working with older adults experiencing abuse. In each meeting, E-MDT members will discuss new and existing cases, strategize about intervention strategies, share information, and coordinate safety and resource planning.

The New York City Elder Abuse Center (NYCEAC) oversees E-MDT development in all five boroughs of New York City:
